Patience Jonathan Ordered To Forfeit N5.8m, N2.5bn Traced To Her Accounts
SOUTH MILWAUKEE WI. (GVE) – Dame Patience Jonathan, wife of Nigeria’s former president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has been ordered to forfeit huge sums of money traced to her account, Global Village Extra can report.
According to a tweet by the Economic an Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), this order was made by the Court of Appeal in Lagos which upheld the interim forfeiture of $5,842,316.66 and N2,421,953,522.78.
The court on Friday, 12 January, dismissed the appeal of the defence team led by renowned lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN).
It read: “The Court of Appeal in Lagos has upheld the order of interim forfeiture of $5,842,316.66 and N2,421,953,522.78 traced to the accounts of Patience Jonathan, ex-First Lady, and dismissed the appeal by defence team led by Mike Ozekhome, SAN.”
As at the time of filing this report, there were no details of the order by the court as journalists were still scampering around for more information on the directive.
